As you may or may not know, FIDM recently informed us that we could NO LONGER MEET at their facilities.
I’ve been negotiating with them to see if we could rework our arrangement so we could still fit into their plans but to no avail.
They will be busier during the fall semester into the evenings and they plan to use the 5th floor conference room and other classrooms at night, so we were nicely asked to leave by the end of their summer semester, which is this week.
FIDM has graciously hosted us (for free) since January 2013 and we really appreciate everyone there for accommodating us all this time. But we are now actively looking for another permanent place to meet on Thursday evenings. Please be on the lookout and let me know.
We are NOT meeting at all tomorrow, September 11th.
But we will do have a really good meeting planned for next week, Sept. 18, at Oracle in the Financial District. Our club’s VP PR, Pat Ma, will be our host.
Oracle is located at 475 Sansom Street (at Clay). Very easy to get to from BART and MUNI or walking from anywhere downtown.
We have three speeches scheduled for next week (two Icebreakers); a 2-Minute Special; Table Topics and evaluations.
And Pat assured me that everyone who attends will get to drink champagne from The America’s Cup! Woo Hoo!
Have a great weekend!
